I love seeing good speakers. I look forward to the entertaining or inspiring stories, the humor and drama, and the fascinating research people share.
But for me, if I’m giving up my time to hear a speaker, I want to know the one important thing the speaker wants to impart to me.
Ultimately, I want to know what to do with the information I’m being given.
So, as you craft each piece of your content, think about your audience and ask yourself these 3 essential questions:
1. If I leave this out will it hurt my message?
2. Is this new information or something they’ve heard elsewhere?
3. Will this help my audience take action?
To avoid overwhelming your audience, make sure you deliver the main point. Clearly.
